Inferno does nothing - Guild Wars Forums

A group of enemies will be wailing away on me at point blank, so I cast inferno so that I can get them all at once, but then nothing happens. My character goes through the motions, the flame disc appears and burns to the ground, but no one gets hurt what so ever. It's worked maybe three times. What do I have to do to cause damage? Do I have to be standing on them to do anything?

I've encountered this problem too, sometimes it just does nothing. Usually it works for me, but I do notice when it does nothing.

In any case I don't use inferno any more, not when I have aftershock.

I just label the problem as lag... where sometime character are now shown in the proper position... thats my guess. As it work sometimes.

The priest aoe did nothing 80% of the time for me, though I only played it in the first day of the beta event. They still have bugs.

You mean the monk's symbol of wrath and Bal... aura thing...? =P

Those 2 worked fine for me.

I've never had any problems with Inferno, although it can be easy to miss the "-81" (or whatever) as that goes off almost immediately after you hit the skill key, whereas the Inferno animation goes on for a long time, it's still going long after the creatures have taken the damage. If you're expecting to see damage numbers fly during that animation, you're too late, you already missed it.

I seem to have had the same problem with Inferno as well. It could be lag but I have never had a lag problem so I think not. I use symbol of wrath all the time and it work great. Longer lasting and double damage to undaed too.

yeah...... same prob with inferno here..... running perf with no lag and I looked for the change in the creature health after the first 4 casts....... no effect bug

Strange. It seems to work for me 100% of the time. Are you sure you're getting close enough? I usually whack on my foes with a sword between PBAoEs, so I know I'm always in range...
